1. Who we are
Al-Sahl Al Mumtani SPC (trading as "Taim Academy", "we", "us"), CR 1251921, Muscat, is the data controller for:
- taim.om: courses, registration and payment, the student, instructor and organisation portals, certificates and their verification, consultations, and free tools (AI Readiness, Data Story, Taim Pulse, Team AI Quiz, AI Health Check, AI Job Explorer, surveys)
- Taim AI Lab (ai.taim.om / beta.taim.om): AI practice platform for enrolled trainees
- Taim Quest and the Excel Playground: practical Excel missions with Taima, an AI coach
- Noor: our assistant on WhatsApp
- Our accounts on Instagram, X and LinkedIn

We do not ask for sensitive data (health, religion, political opinion, biometrics). If you include some in a free-text field, we treat it with the same care and delete it when we can.
3. Why we may use it (legal basis)
- To carry out our agreement with you or your organisation: registration, training, certificates, payments, support, and service messages about a course you joined.
- Legal obligations: financial records, accreditation requirements, requests from competent authorities.
- Your explicit consent: marketing emails and WhatsApp messages, optional cookies, publishing your photo, testimonial or project, and the participation of under-18s (given by the parent or guardian). You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect what happened before it.
- Other cases the Law allows: for example, keeping our systems secure and preventing fraud, and establishing or defending legal claims.
We send marketing (offers, new courses, campaigns) only to people who opted in. Every email has an unsubscribe link. On WhatsApp, reply STOP.
4. How we use it
- Register you, take payment, and send confirmations, reminders and course materials
- Run the training, record attendance, and issue and verify certificates
- Give access to the AI Lab, Taim Quest and the organisation portal
- Answer you by email, phone or WhatsApp
- Produce your assessment and readiness reports
- Measure and improve our pages and courses (with analytics consent), and our ads (with marketing consent)
- Keep the platform secure and prevent abuse
5. AI features and automated processing
Taim AI Lab
- What you type and the files you add are sent to the AI provider you pick (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, xAI or DeepSeek) to produce the answer, under that provider's API terms. This is a transfer outside Oman (see §9). Please don't enter personal or confidential information in prompts.
- Your chats are saved in your account so you can continue them, until you delete them. Uploaded files are deleted after 30 days. Usage logs (time, model, credits) are kept 90 days.
- Access is linked to your enrolment and ends when it expires.
Taima (Taim Quest coach)
When you check a mission, your workbook and question are analysed by Anthropic's Claude to give feedback and hints. The score comes from fixed checks in our code. If you study through your employer, your organisation can see your progress (see §8).
Noor on WhatsApp
Noor is an AI assistant that answers questions about our courses on WhatsApp. Your messages go through Meta's WhatsApp Business service and are answered with Anthropic's Claude. We keep the conversation so our team can follow up. You can ask Noor for a person at any time, or write to info@taim.om.
Your right to a human
AI helps with answers, feedback and reports, but it does not decide alone anything with legal or similar effect on you, such as your admission, a refund or your certificate. You may object to automated processing and ask for a person to review it.
6. Photos, testimonials, projects and social media
- We take photos and short videos in some classes and events. We publish a picture where a person can be recognised only with their consent, and we record that consent. Pictures of under-18s are never published.
- Testimonials and trainee projects appear on taim.om or our social media only after you agree. We can show your project without your name if you prefer.
- We publish on Instagram, X and LinkedIn with our own tools. To withdraw your consent, write to info@taim.om. We remove the content from our accounts within 7 days, but we can't recall copies others have already shared.
- When you follow, like or message us on those platforms, their own privacy policies apply. We see what the platform shows us (public profile, comments, messages) and the total numbers (followers, likes, reach).
- Links in our posts use short
taim.om/s/…addresses. We count clicks on them, and connect a click to a registration only if you accepted analytics cookies.
7. Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser keeps for a website. Essential cookies are always on, because the site cannot work without them. Analytics and marketing cookies are off until you choose them in the banner. No pre-ticked boxes, and no "by browsing you agree". You can change your choice at any time:

With marketing consent we also tell Meta, from our server, when you register or pay (Conversions API). We send your email and phone only in hashed (scrambled) form, so Meta can match them to its users without receiving them in readable form. Without that consent, nothing is sent to Meta. Each choice is logged (consent ID, choices, date, hashed IP) so we can prove it. Staff browsing the site are not counted.
8. Who receives data
We never sell, rent or trade personal data. We share only what each recipient needs:

9. Transfers outside Oman
Several of these services process data outside Oman: in the United States (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, xAI, Meta, Microsoft, X), the European Union and other countries (hosting), and China (DeepSeek, only when you pick it in the AI Lab). We use them under their business terms, send only what is needed, and ask you not to put personal data into AI prompts. If you'd rather your data stayed out of a service, tell us and we'll tell you what that changes.
10. Trainees under 18
Most of our services are for adults. Some programmes, such as AI in Action for Youth (ages 14–17), are for under-18s. For them:
- A parent or guardian registers the trainee, or gives consent, and we keep the guardian's contact details.
- We use the trainee's data only to run the programme and issue the certificate. We send no marketing to the trainee.
- Pictures of minors are not published. Tools such as the AI Lab are used under the trainer's supervision.
- The parent or guardian can use all the rights in §11 for the trainee.
If you think a child gave us data without a guardian, write to info@taim.om and we will delete it.
11. Your rights
- Access: a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction of anything wrong or incomplete
- Deletion when we no longer need it or have no legal reason to keep it
- Objection, including to automated processing, with review by a person
- Withdrawal of consent: unsubscribe link, STOP on WhatsApp, or Cookie settings
- Portability: your data in a common format
- Complaint to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology
Write to info@taim.om with your full name and what you need. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We answer within 15 working days, well inside the 45 days the regulations allow.

After these periods, data is deleted or anonymised, unless a dispute or the law requires us to keep it longer.
13. Security and breaches
- HTTPS everywhere. Passwords stored only as bcrypt hashes. Platform access keys are encrypted.
- Staff see only what their role needs. Admin actions are logged.
- Private files (certificates, receipts, class photos) are not publicly reachable and are served only to people allowed to see them.
- If a breach puts personal data at risk, we notify the Ministry within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, and we inform the people affected when the risk to them is high.
14. Changes and contact
When our services or the law change, we update this page and the date at the top. For important changes, we also email registered users.
