National and international student competitions receive thousands of project ideas each year — many of which unknowingly duplicate existing submissions from previous years or across organisations. Evaluating originality manually at scale is time-prohibitive and inconsistent. This agent addresses the problem by accepting a project idea and title as input, then running it against a structured knowledge base of known idea repositories, previous competition submissions, and registered project records. It returns a list of the most similar entries along with a similarity score for each, flags ideas that were previously submitted to specific competitions, and provides a brief rationale explaining the nature of the similarity — so reviewers understand whether it is a coincidence or a direct parallel. Competition coordinators can pre-screen all incoming ideas before formal evaluation begins.
